Steve Church - Senior Vice President, Avnet, Inc Chief Operational Excellence Officer
Steve Church leads the company's global efforts in applying a philosophy of process and system improvements to achieve cost savings, decreased cycle times, enhanced customer service and overall operational efficiencies. He reports to Chief Operating Officer Rick Hamada. Steve served formerly as chief human resources development officer, where he used his skills in strategy development, execution and teambuilding to carry forward a solid program of people development and became well known as a strong advocate of employee engagement.
The main reason why companies struggle to integrate Voice of the Customer (VOC) with their operational excellence efforts and business development/innovation is that there are typically different owners for these initiatives within their company. Steve Church will focus on how the organizational structure at Avnet where he has responsibility for all three allows Avnet to leverage VOC in a significant way to improve business performance.
Bruce Williams - Senior Vice President and General Manager Software AG
Bruce Williams is the Senior Vice President and General Manager for Strategic Accounts at Software AG, a $1B global business software and solutions firm. In this capacity, he is responsible for the performance of the Company’s most strategic customers and relationships, including solutions, products, packaging and pricing, services offerings, alliances, marketing, field readiness, services, and support. His primary focus is the company’s relationships with senior executives within key customer accounts in North and Latin America. Bruce was previously the Senior Vice President responsible for the Company’s Web-Methods Business Process Management Suite.
The IT community is now all abuzz with Business Process Management (BPM) and Service Oriented Architectures (SOA). These are significant technical advancements, with stories emerging of staggering results in truly complex and demanding business environments. Technologies are just tools, though, and even transformative tools don’t transform businesses by themselves. They must compliment changes in management, behaviors, and culture. Bruce will explore how this all comes together.
