This is a very special month for ABPMP. April 2013 marks the tenth year anniversary of the association!
Ten years ago this month Brett Champlin and a few others got together and decided that BPM professional practitioners needed a professional association. He was relentless in contacting people and in selling the idea of a professional BPM association. Well, it was a good idea and it caught on.
In the past ten years we have grown to become the predominant professional BPM association in the world. We have chapters in countries all over the world and members at large in even more countries. And, we have over 6,000 members worldwide. We have the only professional practitioner’s certification and we are about to release, this month the third version of our BPM Common Body of Knowledge – which is set to become the definitive source of BPM guidance in the world. Big claim, yes. But, look at the authors – the heads of BPM programs in companies, the heads of BPM consulting services from many of the most recognized consulting firms in the world, and leading practitioners. And just to prove the value of the content, the chapters have introductions from leading authors and research firms.
We have come a long way in the past ten years. But, we haven’t seen anything yet. Our best days lie ahead of us as the board continues to strive to keep the discussions and information at the leading edge of the BPM revolution evolution.
Please join me and the ABPMP Board in wishing the association a long and productive life with ever increasing value to our members.
