Announcing the ABPMP(R) Business Process Management Competency Model


The ABPMP Education Committee developed and launched the BPM Competency Model that serves two proposes:

  1. The ABPMP BPM Competency Model is a developmental path that outlines the skills, competencies and experience levels for individuals pursuing a career in Business Process Management.
  2. The ABPMP BPM Competency Model provides a roadmap that aligns the ABPMP BPM CBOK content with the ABPMP BPM Certifications.

 Equivalent Business Title Process Analyst  Process Architect Chief Process Architect
Primary Responsibilities
  •  Applies Business Process Principals in the analysis of As Is business operations and the creation of To Be business operating models
  • Creates Business Process Artifacts
  • Leads Process Transformation and improvement Teams

 Education / Certification
  • Undergraduate degree
    (or equivalent work experience)
  • Certified Business Process Analyst (CBPA)® from Association of Business Process Professional (or equivalent work experience) preferred
  • Lean/Six Sigma green belt certification
    (optional but preferred)
  • Masters Degree (or equivalent work experience)
