What is needed to take an online exam?
- Ensure that you have a fast and reliable Internet service.

Ensure that you have installed Respondus® LockDown Browser® secure browser software and set up your Biometric Profile at least 1 day prior to your scheduled exam time.
- Make sure to plug in your USB web camera and microphone and test before the exam.
- Clear your testing area, remove electronic devices, phones, and distractions.
- Log into Webassessor account at least 15 minutes prior to your scheduled exam time.
- Click the "My Assessments" tab
- Then click the "Launch" button to the right of the exam name to start
Step-by-step online proctored exam experience:
- After the test taker submits their online exam application and receives an approval email, they will be sent a new email with their login information to access the online testing website called "Webassessor".

Login to the Webassessor website and choose your exam (e.g., CBPA, CBPP). Each exam will be identified as “online proctored” or “onsite proctored.” If you want to take the online exam, please choose the first option called “online proctored.”

Complete the registration process by choosing your time zone, date, and testing time. You will also need to complete the purchase of the exam with a credit or debit card.

After completing registration, the test taker is prompted to download the Respondus® LockDown Browser® secure browser software. This is a secure browser that will take your photo and complete the biometrics requirement of the online exam.
This must be completed at least 1 day prior to the exam. You will receive an email with a link to download the Respondus® LockDown Browser® secure browser software. If you need assistance with the installation,

Once installed, the user is prompted to open their webcam and take a photo of their face. The photo is then uploaded to their Webassessor account.

On the day of the test, the test taker will open the email they received from Webassessor and click the link to login to their account. Make sure to login at least 15 minutes prior to your scheduled exam time.

The online proctor will open the testing area. The proctor will prompt the user to take another headshot photo and ask the test taker to move the webcam around to show their space. Once finished, the test taker will wait until the exam begins.

When satisfied with the test environment, the proctor will start the exam.

Each test taker proceeds to takes the exam.

When the exam ends, the test taker will log out. A recording of the session will be uploaded to the account on Webassessor. Any actions that were marked as suspicious will be reported.

Test takers will receive their scores automatically by email, unless examiners find suspicious actions. In that case, ABPMP will review what happened and decide if they pass or need to retake.
