Start a Chapter

The basic steps required to start a Chapter are:

  1. Form an Executive Management team consisting of (3 required): 
    • President,
    • VP Finance,
    • VP Education,
    • VP Programs,
    • VP Membership
    • (VP Communications and VP Sponsorship optional for startup)
  2. Sign International Chapter Affiliation Agreement
  3. Draft a Chapter Charter (Bylaws)
  4. Setup Executive Committees:
    • Operations,
    • Programs/Education,
    • Membership
  5. Establish a meeting facility/location
  6. Build a Calendar of Events Schedule up to six months in advance
  7. Recruit members!

Chapter Officer Requirements

The first step in establishing a chapter is to find a minimum of three (3) motivated, entrepreneurial individuals that are registered professional members of the ABPMP. These individuals should be:

  • Practicing BPM professionals
  • Practitioners who enjoy evangelizing BPM
  • Educational and Training providers who can help others learn about BPM
  • People who, through their experience, can identify challenges or pitfalls

All chapter officers are required to become Professional ABPMP members. This gives you access to our content to develop your Chapter and also gives you voting rights in the organization.

All chapter officers are required to sign the Code of Ethics

All chapter officers are required to sign the ABPMP Confidentiality Statement.
